So for a first timer since the wind is going to be down tomorrow (fingers crossed) iv decided to go out to Harrie's with a couple of my mates.

Ill be launching from wello, now is there any tips on navigation that i need to know. My plan of attack is... well at this stage there is none ill do all that tonight but just quickly going of my chart head to the black marker (hope banks) using the tip of straddie as a guide then onto the green marker and the reef is inbetween that green marker and the red marker for the NW entrance to the bar (marked as ROUS on the chart).

Is it a very big area to fish in?

im gonna have my 20-25ltr tank and about 10ltr extra tank.

Iv got a gps (for my car) i plotted the co-ords this morning and it seemed to work giving me the direction to the bay but im just wondering if it will be useless as tits on a bull. Am i going to NEED to take it? its not waterproof but i can get around that or for a first timer is it easy to find by sight?

any assistance is greatly greatly appreciated as i want to be here sunday to tell the tale : )

Hmm what kinda boat do you have becos the weather is looking very variable with gusts and breezes according to seabreeze.

I have never been out from their so i cant tell you much.

Make sure you switch off stick to road option?? if yours have it.

if you find harrys a bit marginal which it gets very easily try the shelterd sides of the islands for a bit of piece and quiet
