far out what a sesion, went to a work fancy dress ball the night before and went to bed at 3 am to get a wholesome half an hour of sleep, so when my alarm went off at 3.30 i was not in the best of moods. i put this aside however, and decided it would be worth my while to go to the effort to get to bribie. i diddnt realise it was so far :o an hour and 15 minutes later saw me arriving to my destination. after a few minutes there i was getting concerned about all the 'high risk area, do not leave valuebles alone in car' signs. i sat there nervousley, very very nervously for an hour wondering if i was even within 100 k's of the right spot, when finally at 6.00 am lee arrived. far out was i glad.

within the next 10 minutes 3 other guys turned up and after having a quick chat we were off onto the water. it was pretty slow at first, and i was keen as anything to chase some tuna, so i gave up on the baby squire eating all my tails off my grubs and chased a promising looking flock of birds attacking the water.

i paddled for about 20 mins only to find the bust up i was after consited entireley of dolphins, so after having a quick few casts just in case i returned back to the gang to see how they were doing. it just so turned out that the squire had come and gone off the bite and i arrived to see the last one caught for a while. it was then that lee suggested i use one of his 5 inch pink things, so i tried that on and threw it out. i was washing my hands in the water waiting for the plastic to hit the bottom when all of a sudden i felt the braid on my rod sink deep into my fingers as a nervous fish on the other end of the line swam as fast as it could in the other direction. the runs were long and hard, and this was just the fishing i had been longing for. after a very satisfying fight, a 48 cm squire was landed.

after that, we were swamped by boats, as we landed more and more fish, more and more boats came as close as possible to get onto our school but we were the only ones who managed any fish. as frustrating as it was that the other boats were so close, they were close enough so that we could see the jelousey build up in there faces, which was a very pleasing sight.

we all managed a few more squire after that, but eventually the fun died down and we decided to call it a day. unfortunatley no tuna, but a great day none the less. hopefully the other guys will tell their side as well.

Well here is how my day went arrived at the launch site and I was the first in the car park or so i thought as jordan came from out of the dark seconds later shortly followed by 3 others Mark,Ashley and John. We all packed our yaks loaded them onto our trolleys and headed for the beach. the first half hour or so was a bit slow with only one undersized squire being landed by one of the other boys, but as soon as jordan left to chase his imaginary tuna school they turned it on lol. My first fish came shortly after a nice little squire that I thought might just make the 35cm so I pulled him onboard chucked the lip grippers in his mouth and turned around to measure him on my esky behind me he went 34.5cm so back he went. As I was trying to release him he gave a couple of quick tail kicks and my lip grippers slipped through my hands heading to the bottom along with the fish.

just a few casts later and I was on again and this felt a lot more substantial after a few blistering runs I got beside the boat a beautiful snapper around the 55cm mark as I reached for my grippers which for some reason werent there lol the fish took one last run spitting the hook:(

Ashley was the next to chime in with 2 squire both in the mid 40's, then it was my turn again and this was another good fish smashing the plastic and screaming line off of the reel after a few minutes I boated a nice snapper that later measured in at exactly 50cm.

at this point Jordan paddled back to the news that the squire were starting to turn it on. he persavered with the plastic he was throwing around but couldnt entice anything. after I boated yet another squire that measured 42cm

my 42cm fish along with jordans smaller one

I then gave Jordan a 5\" gulp to hopefully improve his chances and that it did, a few casts later and he was onto a very solid fish and even on his new 20lb outfit it gave him some greif and took a few metres of drag off of him. he eventually boated a squire that later measured 48cm.

a few drifts later and he was on to another fish a bit smaller this time at 40cm. By this stage the couple of stink boats that had moved in on our action were really starting to get the shits watching us pull in fish after fish from right in front of there noses lol.

I had 2 more very good fish hookup and throw the plastic after a short fight and then on my second last drift of the day right past the beacon I was on again and this felt differant no head thumps at all a few runs later and I topped off the day with a nice 47cm flatty:lol:
