Pflueger Spin Reels?

After some feed back on the small Pflueger spin reels. The one I am specifically looking at is the President in the 25 size. I have heard mixed reports on their baitcasters but not a lot on the spin reels.

Mate i had one. Loved it. Treated it well, and the bloody bale arm snapped clean in half at Hinze while Tanya was reeling in a fish.

I am not going to bag them out though. Before that occured it seemed to work fantastically. Im sure this muct have been a one off fault with that bale arm.

i have a 2 of the spin reels by them..they are great litle reels...ones loaded with 2Lb braid and the other is 9Kg braid...cant failt them and they have been given a real workout as i fish a lot

Have you had any trouble finding a replacement part Angus?

i have one....a bloody good reel too...very smooth in all aspects...its up there with one of my favs of all time;)

Any thoughts how they compare to a Shimano Stradic or Daiwa Tierra? I am tempted to bite the bullet and spend a bit more on some decent reals.

i'd go a daiwa- following the logic that pflueger also make guns, and shimano also make bicycle gears, and daiwa- well- they really only make fishy stuff!

I did not really look to be honest. Jimmy's handle was quite salted up so i donated mine to him for salvage.

Mate I bought a new model bait caster - nowhere near as good as the Diawa I have. Serves me right I should buy Daiwa.:pinch:

actually diawa also make watches they own the seiko brand
