Wello Point and Coochiemudlo island

Gday guys, I am planning to have a go in wellington point early next week. I've been there only once, and that was in the very first week of my fishing life, so i did not know a thing about fishing, did not get one bite. I saw the other posts suggesting some nice flathead over there? how about fishing off the jetty? any suggestions?

I have never been to Coochie island before, is it worth for me to take a rod to the island? What can i expect fishing landbased?

Not too sure about Wello landbased but on Coochie we used to get some good bream and whiting from the various beaches and rocky points around the island, my pb whiting comes from coochie at 42cm :cheer:

I haven't fished the jetty for years but you used to get a few unstoppables there ,

wello point jetty will be no good next week , school holidays and a heap of jetty jumping kids .

I keep telling a couple of people I know if you have a small boat or yak go to the end of the leads abd turn south for only a few meters.... Fish rhe drop off in around 5 mtr deep and you will open up all kinds of possibilities
