What about creating an option to "ignore" particular users?

I'm thinking it could be a one time pay option, so you can pay $1 or $5 per addition to the list to hide a particular users posts from your view.

There are upsides and downsides to the idea.

Downsides include: less interaction amongst members, alienation of some members, possibility to miss out on a learning opportunity.

Upsides include: revenue generation for the site, reduced need of moderation, reduction of trolls.
