Who has a bow and who goes bow hunting?

Just thought i would ask the question about who goes bow hunting here?

I used to do a bit of bow hunting when i was younger and was thinking about getting back into it again after speaking to some relo's the other day about the amount of pigs, goats and deer on their properties.

My son is really keen too, so it might be good to get away and do some freshwater fishing and bow hunting.

Does anyone know of any good Brisbane based archery shops?

There's also Eagle archery in Woodridge. They're a Mathews dealer as well. Great service there.

when i first got into hunting, the bow and arrow was my weapon of choice. i still go occasionally but prefer to use a gun. i still have all the gear at home to go on hunts.

i go to eagle archery, they have a good range down their.

I will have a look at a those shops this week when i get a chance.

Will probably be chasing pigs and goats mainly as they are in huge numbers on the properties i am looking at going to.

ive also got a hunting bow brought it with intention to use it but couldnt get hold of any properties so given up for now but i definatly prefer hunting with my guns when i go back to nz for holidays

Yeah, i like the guns too, but sold all mine when i left the country.

I actually stopped using guns nearly all together when i started using dogs, that was a bucket load of fun and we would sell them to the local chiller.

how do you guys find properties to hunt off?

I wanna get into hunting but have no idea how to get access to the areas for hunting

A while back someone posted on here that it was OK to use a bow in fresh water, so after telling a few people that bit of info I found out the other day from fisheries that this is not so, no bows, no spear guns and no spears allowed.

We have done a bit of bow hunting, a while back the old man came into posetion of a cross bow (yes he is licenced for it 'M licence') and its a load of fun to shoot with, problem is everytime we're out for a hunt the bow usually stays in the car and the guns get cracked.

I second this totally illegal in fresh water.. I am not sure though if it is a private owned dam though. Maybe someone else here knows about that.
