Windy as well. The Gold Coast has been hit by wind gusts of just over 90km/h during the day. This weather system is, or has now moved up to us. Will be interesting to see how windy it gets here

tell me about it! im at work now taken emergency and outages calls! Its not just the goldcaost either! Between poeple hitting polls and the wind blowing trees ets in the lines, its gonna be a busy night! On a break now having a breather!

Used to love the storms and wild weather when I was working boss used to get p!ssed off every time there was a lightening strike and we used to cheer and say there is another couple of hours of overtime.Once did 123 days straight without a day off, we used to get some rain then.

No breaks for the boys tonight mate. We've had wind gusts blowing over MANGO trees in mt gravatt and lots more. Terry wasnt kidding about those 90k + winds!

Got some semi decent rain coming from the east, so hopefully something good will come out of this!Be nice for the wind to stop whilst rain over catchment areas!

Latest update guys - the TV weather types are now saying winds of 100kph plus peaking between 11pm and 2am tonight across Brissie and inland as far as Toowoomba - batten down the hatches!

just had a look at the radar and the heaviest of the rain seems to be over sommerset and wivenhoe:) on the news before they said that there is a possibility of recieving around 100mm overnight. fingers cross that they r right

I live 5 minutes from Wivenhoe and out total rainfall for all of Thursday night and Friday is...a huge 25mm.

Plenty of wind but nothing like the rain falls on the coast, as usual.

Our total for the week is about 60mm.

You should have seen the run off today in the creeks etc where the Traveston dam is going to be built! Paddocks flooded, creeks breaking their banks, pity they have not built the dam yet!
