The 5" flash shads are quite a large plastic so a 4/0 or 5/0 would be a good size hook.

Jig weight will be determined on where you fish,the depth and how strong the currents are.

Agreed,I lean towards the 5/0 size and I even use a 6/0 when weed less rigging for jacks and that does not seem overly big
