The Wests Tigers have confirmed playmaker Benji Marshall has asked the NRL club for a release.

The New Zealand star advised the club he was seeking a release from the last two years of his contract, which ran until the end of the 2015 season.

There will be a member of the Marshall family at Wests Tigers next year. Benji`s younger brother, Jeremy.
