queensland Catching Bar Cod

Yesterday we went out to the shelf to look for some new ground to fish for Bar Cod and Flame Snapper.

We had a good area to start the search from so we spent the day looking and having a few drops here and there on the various bits that we found.

The fish were playing hard to get yesterday but we ended up with some nice cod but no Flamies.

3 cod were 20kg plus, absolutely stonkers as far as Bar Cod go.

My biggest fish we conservatively called at 25kg but I think it will go bigger once put it over the scales.

Conditions were awesome out there yesterday with little current, flat seas and a small swell right up till around 1-2pm when that bigger swell started to roll in.

The fish bit very tentatively yesterday with us missing an awful lot of fish.

Conditions were nearly as good as it gets Ted.

The weather,seas and the drift were all good yesterday but the fish were very finicky.

I have some great line burns on my hands though,lol
