Went to the eastern arm today to avoid going shopping.

it has been a while since it was last there and the water level has dropped a lot and my shrimp traps were half submerged.

They were chokka with one pot having over 50 shrimp in it.

This one had a visitor.

So I chucked it straight back and released it and the shrimp. I was a bit worried that it may try to get in the boat but it swam to shore and slithered up the bank.

do not know what type it was and did not want to look closer to find out hence poor photo.

Had to work for the bass but quickly used up my remaining 25 tags.

Looks poisonous.

see what you mean about the shrimp drought at NPD, 8 shrimp in 8 pots. Got at least 30 in each pot on Saturday. Well Saturday's will just have to see me through until it picks up!

Bloke at the ramp as i was leaving says 4 of his pots have been nicked. he and his mate put in a string of 8 last week,4gone.

+1 for Keelback pretty common freshwater snake

Still wouldn't be putting my hand in there lol. Least he got to live. I find it funny when ever we are at somerset and set the redclaw traps. Always get a water rat droned in a pot, what a horrible way to go.
