The Holiday Project

Hi all

So, some of you who have read the Brisbane River reports may know that I have fashioned a fish cart to tow my gear done. Well, I saw a picture online of a bit of an upgrade so I thought I might do it. Today, we finally got around to getting to Bunnings Warehouse to buy some supplies. We got a 2.4m piece of plywood, a 1M pice of PVC pipe, some brackets to mount the pipe on the wood and some cable ties. The screw we got were square heads, so we were clueless about screwing them in because we needed a Phillip Head screw. Luckily, we had some lying around under the house. 

Basically what I put together was two racks to hold my rods on, on the side of the Kmart beach trolley ($50. 80cm by 45cm by 25cm). It went well, and I think everyone will be able to it better with the picture. Here it is - 

I'm sorry if this is a bit boring, but I thought I'd post it up as I hadn't really said anything about it in any other posts. It is basically cable tied on the side, all you need to make it is the above. I'm happy to answer any questions about it if it is worded badly/you want to know more.

Those custom fishing trolly's are worth their weight in gold for carting all your gear land based you see some good set ups at hervey bay where the urangan wharf is nearly 1km long.

Yes, I do think it has paid off very well. I have heard some stories on Urangan Pier, those carts must be great!

Thanks for that, I do plan to improve over time, but currently this is going to be fine.

It is so good seeing someone your age so keen on fishing. Keep it up pal. I read every report you post.

Thanks for that, I hope it is the first of many. I was actually very surprised I managed it, because it was my first time I had to saw quite a bit (probably not that much but I think 7 big cuts is a lot LOL) and they were pretty clean cuts... And I only found out we owned a power saw after I finished.
