Oscar fish help

Hey all.
I created a fake ivy back drop on the outside of my Oscar tank and both of them didn’t like it and started sulking as they do. But a few minutes later they got spooked and smashed around the tank and my male hasn’t been the same since (this was last night) now I’m seeing him do things his never done like messing around like his playing with the rocks and fake plants in the tank. And he’s not eating, when he loves food. He’s not eating his pellet or his live mealworms. He’s swimming around like he seems fine. But I’m just concerned cos he loves his food. The female is ok, but he is not. Water is fine, ph 7 amm 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 15ppm. The temp is around 28c
it’s like he’s attacking things around in the tank when he didn’t do this before he was spooked.
Any advice???

The backdrop is causing a reflection in the tank and the male can see itself and thinks it's another male in his space, causing him to try to prove dominance. Remove the backdrop.

Bingo. Same reason @ellicat's good wife had to remove all the mirrors around their house ............ . Speaking of which, how are your knuckles healing Brian ........
