Offshore spin/overhead

Just wanted to see what you guys preferred for general offshore use. I've only used overhead reels once and I didn't like it as much compared to spin reels. Also, which spin reel would u recommend for offshore spinning? Thanks

Depends what for offshore, Bottom Fishing, Overhead.

Floating, Spinning, Threadline.

The Daiwa Opus Bull looks like a pretty decent reel for the cost. What is your price range?

That's true i guess. What is a good but light overhead reel that'll take at least 400m of 50lb braid and have 100m of mono backing? Cost wise, maybe under $300

diawa saltist 40.i have one and boy is it a sweet reel..i have the slow speed one but they make a high speed one if thats what ur wanting

Overheads arent that heavy...

penn spin fishers are good and almost indestructable. ive got 1 on a 15kg stick for bottom bashing.

But your will also need a high speed retrieve for casting a tuna.

overheads are better for botom bashing and trolling and spins better for casting and floating

and you wont get many light overheads under $300 that can hold 500m of line total

tyrnos 20 is a pretty good reel that im pretty sure is under 300 imo there much better than tlds and can prob fit around that amount of line but it weighs 1kg not sure if thats to heavy?

Now understand about how overheads are better. So which would be a good value overhead that is light and has a click drag? Used a tld20 on the charter and was weird not having a click drag
