yellow fish, anyone know it?

hey guys,

on sunday around shallow tempest i was unlucky enough to be bothered by small bright yellow fish with a spot similar to fingermark or moses perch, anyone know what it may have been? just for the record, 1 pearly, 1 scorpion fish and a heap of these little yellow guys was all we caught for the day.

did it have faint blue stripes on the yellow

yeah mate it did. hussar, does that particular species get bigger than the 150mm model?

according to grants they max out at 38cm

Some juvenile reef moses have a lot of yellow on them as well.

Would explain the spot.

Yeah as Angus said, could just be a small Moses. Or maybe a Striped Sea Perch (Spanish Flag)

there are three fish in qld waters that get called moses perch because of the spot but only one that has faint blue lines running lengthwise on a bright yellow body
