queensland Mud Island Snapper

Heys guys, Its been a while since I posted on AFO, but thought I'd share some pics with you.

Fished Mud Island twice last week on Monday 7th & Friday 11th.

On Monday I picked up a 77cm snapper which was easily a new PB for me. That was the only legal fish I got that day, but my mate Brad got a coulpe squire between 38-43cm. I also got busted off on another nice size fish.

Went back out on Friday hoping for another nice fish and wasnt disappointed. Got a 76cm snap in almost the same spot. Also picked up a coulpe squire at 36 & 37cm, a 38cm estuary cod, and heaps of throwback squire. Again lost another good size fish that day when it spat the hook.

Both the big snaps were caught on 5" jerk shads in blue pepper neon, using 10lb fireline and 12lb flouro carbon leader. Interestingly both were caught in the middle of the afternoon.

The rod is a Wilson LCS Snapper light which is rated for 6-14lb braid, and the reel is a Daiwa Capricorn XTC 2500
