Estuary Cod - Gold Coast

Hi All,

Got this little cod halfway through the run out in Nerang River off the rock wall at the Council Chambers.

Only a small one, but I only get a few a year so Im pretty happy. Caught on the ever reliable Squidgie Shad in red. Second cod I have caught on the shads. Hard to tell in the pic, but it had plenty of colour, escpecially the orange spots.

No, she was well undersize I think, so didn't bother with the measure tape.

I fished the council chambers both days over last weekend whilst down visiting the out laws fished the morning and then the afternoon both days trolling lures around from the yak for not even a touch tried every lure in the tackle box i reckon, so well done mate nice catch.

Gee's the water was clear but not sure if that had anything to do with it though.
