queensland Brisbane River Bassin 18/1/09

[Plastic Man]

Headed up the river this morning to get stuck into some bass took a mate that had never got a fish on surface so that was the plan for the day and also get me a leagal fish as i havnt got one from this area since about 00/01

Didnt take long for the mate to get onto the board getting one on the surface even before we even had the canoe in the water not a big fish but still a surface bass

Got a few more small fish on surface untill the sun was to high so we went sub surface using spinnerbaits and jackalls and g- vibes

Ended up getting 12 bass for the day me 8 bass and kenny 4 bass and one good bust off for kenny i did manage to get my legal fish i was after a 41cm fl on a brown dog tn60 jackall kenny also got a nice fish over the 40cm mark on a g-vibe hes fish was well fatter than mine though

Onya a few good fish there and looks like it wasnt too windy either.

i like that stretch of river , i do a fair bit there and the surface action can be hot all day on the cool overcasts days, or really early or late... good effort and a good tally!!

yeah man i got it sussed i got nun today around bass stright i know were all the little buggers are we will get up there soon mate and the one that smoked kenny was a good fish too

not much mate pretty good just a little flow always be the same except when it floods then its crap for a while

aahh petrol motor, you will scare all the good fish, the key to that part of the river is silence

i thought that too , but my mate allways uses his 10ft tinnine with a 3.5 hp and cleans up a fair few nice bass trolling that stretch, but i personally prefer to sneak around the snags working all fishy looking snags on the yak!1:)

we fish with electric but motor the longer stretches used the 2hp heaps there about 8yrs ago and still caught alot of trophy fish or close to it.:fishing:
