Fly rods used as spinning rods

hey guys i was just wondering if it would be possible to use fly rods as spinning rods??

not really,the rods a way to long and way to wippy but i have seen them fitted out with mono line and used to catch ludrick(black fish)by sum old guys down south and that was with the normal fly reel.

Gerty have you done any fly fishing before???

befor my fly rod broke, i put a spinning reel on it on a few occasions....bait fishing for whiting and bass a few times..it was fun but it did not \"feel\" right..... but do ya self a favour and teach ya self to wave the fly wand..its hell fun......although i have only landed 1 fish on fly:unsure: ...a 37cm bass....

I concur , give it a go! People make it out to be really hard but it's not that bad. I tried it at a trout version of the barra park in ireland and caught 3 trout. You should catch on!

Gerty anytime that you are up my way give me a yell and ill teach ya how to fly fish...its really ezy...when i was fly fishing down south i use to catch bag loads of flatheads and bream around the sandflats.caught more flatties on fly than any other methods..works well

gerty, like i said before im from caboolture about 20min from bribie island.

when do you think you might be up this way next??

to start you off we might chase a few mullet on bread flies just till ya get good at casting. is that ok with you??

maybe, i said MAYBE if your doin ok i might even take you to spot xxx to have a shot at sum bass.....

imight be dropping in to spot xxx for a quick cast or two on my wat home today dazza...il be there bout 4;15-.4.30 ish....just having a couple of casts to kill the pain of not fishing over the weekend:P
