Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Anything can still happen with the weather, but due to this little heat wave we had im keen to hit up Kooka park soon and thought a AFO social could be in order. I know there was some interest in this a while ago.

So for simplicity sake I was thinking:

Sunday 27th September.

Any start time.

1:00pm BYO BBQ and meet and greet.

I do have a token prize for the longest shark.

Let me know if anyone would be keen.

yeah why not... keen to try for a shark in the yak :)

Cant wait to see that!!! :woohoo:

Have had two hook ups for 2 bust offs. Its def doable.

Especially in the pro fish mate you would have no worries.

My advice would be to fish in the narrower area though so you can fight it towards the bank for an infinetly easier release!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi all, just want to check if I need to put anything on my shopping list prior to this session. What I have so far is a 20kg rod with a Daiwa baitrunner spooled with 40lb braid. I have some 50lb mono trace but not sure if this is the go or wire would be better? Also, what size sinker is usually the go and what type/size hook should I go with?

When casting from the shore, do you use any sort of float or just put them on the bottom?

Also recently got me a 10ft cast net - have been practicing and have the theory down but still suck immensely when it comes to the application... be great if I could get some tips whilst we're there.

What time are people planning on getting there?
