Sharks worth a crack

Fellas thinkin of heading down the pine tomzo for a shark sesh. I was just going to go off the bank at carshill hill there and float out a hole mullet but have tried this now about 5 times and got nothing but with the weather warming up maybe its worth it.Has any one else fished this spot before for sharks.If anyone one isnt doing anything tomzo i will most likly bedown there and your all more thne welcome to join me

Yea mate just down from that a little bit it is only fenced near the road but you can still fish down there and have seen people putting boats in there the last few weekends theres lots of ways to get tere tho

There seems to be a bloke who always has his boat moored there, dunno what the depth is like there, I've not gone over close to that bank. But it should be deep near where the south Pine comes in, there is usually a good hole where two rivers meet. Should be good for sharks.

Well i jsut got back from the creek didnt get a bull shark after floating a hole mullet round for bout 6 hrs but i got a good keeper crab on be line thats bout it ahah well i spose theres always next time ahaha

Make sure your bait is sitting on the bottom mate, should help your capture rate.

Does anyone no how to get the bait out into the river,When i tried yesty the bait wouldnt go out and when it did it just floated back into the bank can anyone help me gettin it out there .

Mate i think the river would have to be alive with them for me to catch them little buggers but ill just keep tryiny but the bait is a problem for me when off the bank

Tide and wind, you need to know if its going in or out and have the wind in favour, well thats what I do, but I was not after sharks, but I get sharked at boggy creek often.

floating out a good size herring for flattie or whatever.

Try fishing the mouth of a creek or from a place like luggage point on an outgoing tide. Rather than use balloons try a small soft drink bottle or milk container(with some water in it), they sit better in the current. Your bait will need to be on the bottom though so you'll need to devise a way of breking it loose when your bait is in enough water. you could try tying it off with light line or even cotton. Hope that helps.

tiagra, some say float your bait, some say sit it on the bottom. personally, i sit mine on the bottom and it only ever gets nailed by pike eels. id like to float it, but its just too hard getting the bait out far enough on balloon.

Well before Terry got a yak, he used to paddle his shark baits out and drop them using one of those toy inflatable rafts. Quite effective.

Bottles work, boats work, I guess it just comes down to experience and budget. Slick, might I suggest you use a bigger whole fish bait, or alternatively, cut one of those pike eels in half and use that. Baits placed on the bottom should out fish floated baits more often than not.

I use a snapper lead off a short dropper with about a meter and a bit of trace and live baits seems to work really well. I've never had much luck floating baits

tiagra, in regards to bait size, i usually use a whole mullet on two 12/0 or 14/0 hooks with 100lb leader and 100lb braid on a big Penn overhead. have tried pike eel as bait, but have never ever had a touch on it.

Feral, not sure who Terry is, but where has he had luck with the sharking in the river? and what size are we talking? im looking for the noahs over 5-6ft.

Headin back down again this friday to try for another bullie the weather looks good and got me self a little blow up boat to row the baits out haha could be an eye opener but worth another shot i rekon
