Got worms?

does anybody know where i can purchase garden worms? i know buying them is lazy, but the soil round our house dosn't seem to be a good breeding ground. im on the northside.

Mate how big is your back yard?

Maybe you could start a little compost heap?

Don't konw about buying them but there isn't a lot of dirt out there that doesn't have them.

old trick for getting earthworms up to the surface is to get an old potato sak or any other old bit of cloth, pour some phenol (foul smelling antiseptic that you can get from the chemist - also known as carbolic acid) over it and leave it lying on top of a piece of garden overnight. Next morning check under the cloth.

mate any good tackle store should sell them, i think some petrol stations sell them aswell.

i think they are like $8 for a container so not tooo bad.

Bald hills tackle shop behind the Caltex on Gympie Rd (just past Beams road as you go north)sells live worms, Nightcrawlers for fresh (they are the equivilent of garden worms), others for salt, just tell them where you want to use them to get the right sort.
