queensland First few trips in the new boat

Well after a few trips out in the new boat ive come to the conclusion that i need to do more research before heading out. With not a great deal to show for 4-5 trips although i dont mind i was just happy to be out in the new boat cruising the bay.

Best trip so far was made to Mud Island early morning start dropped anchor at 4:30 and was in some pinkies from the time the first bait hit the water till about 7 am when we called it quits and headed out a bit further to some beacons just off Tangalooma where while jigging for bait managed to pick up a bonito on the jig and a bunch of chopper tailor which made a nice mess of 2 jigs.

Sunday night me and a mate decided to hit these beacons again hoping something big might be lurking in the darkness but again plenty of pinkies the odd flatty and chopper tailor accounted for most of the numbers till with a whiting as live bait we happened across this

About a 15-20 fight couldve ended badly we were anchored about 30 m from the beacon he had a few runs pass it but didnt turned around it

forgot to measure just pulled him in for a few snap shots and sent him on his way. I would put him close to 2 mtrs.

lol just notice the look and the mates face in the last pic this is probably because he just copped a few good smacks in the chest before the pic was taken.

I agree with the other guys thats massive, love the deck space you have on the new rig you happy with the purchase

Very happy with the new rig, now the run in period is over its very economical and a dream to cruise to your spots in.

Couldn't even have a guess at the weight but it took the 2 of us and a bit of a struggle to get on board.

no not the 4 beacons there are a set of 3 just south of Tangalooma not sure if they have a name
