Hey guys, hope you can help us.

A mate and i are going to the toowong boat club on sunday night for some fishing. (others more than welcome to join in)

We are looking to get some live bait for the session.

Can anyone suggest an area around there or will we be having a drive to the bay area.

What are you using a cast net?

You could prob ge a few prawn and mullet right off the boat club jetty.

Failing there is a park on the Esplanade in Yeronga that has sandy beaches. This is very close by. You will get a few fish and prawns in the cast net there as well.

Oxley creek is probably your next closest bet.

Failing that, Breakfast Creek at the boat ramp at high tide always has stacks of poddy mullet.

A couple of 8/0 to 12/0's on 5 foot of 50 kilo nylon coated wire.

Hook near tail hook behind head (both in the back), float about 2m above the live bait.

If the tide run is strong, you might need 4 or 5m of 6lb beneath the livie with half a house brick or something similar to stop it washing into the bank. If you do just chuck it all out by hand as far as you can, casting is not an option!
