queensland Stumpy at NPD.

Ended not going to Hinze so back to NPD for another enjoyable day.

There is a lot of bird activity there at the moment.I saw 3 seperate large flocks this morning.

I got up close to where this one was working and wasted my time throwing spinner baits and small slugs plus a troll through them.Saw a few small dead boneys where they were working but nothing below them.

Bit unusual because last year the bass were hanging around the flocks.

Caught onother stumpy.

Ended up with 8 bass and one tandanus.

This was the best bass of the day with all the others just above 40 with the exception of the stumpy.

This one sporting an old battle scar. May have been one that was returned from below the dam wall.

Plus the normal feed of redclaw.

Recently I have been marinating them in soy and then smoking them . Excellent.

Ray, You'll have to start wrapping the redclaw in plain packaging soon if you've started smoking them ...(or so the nanna's are telling us :whistle: )

I'm always amazed at how a pelican can actually catch enough fish to keep itself alive.

That is one junky bass Ray, almost looks deformed.....scratch that......It does look deformed. Nice session once again.

Seem to be a fair percentage of of stumpy's in that year class Ray, interestingly the stumpy's seem to be about the same average length as similar aged Bass. Was hoping to get out on the dam myself on saturday afternoon after we finish some stocking group stuff but made the mistake of landing an xos tarpon by hand the other night and ended up with one treble in my finger and the other in the tarpon, very painful. Not supposed to get it wet.
