Hey mate, i can admit i had something similar happen to me once. We just got onto a patch of flathead and i was hopping a soft plastic on the bottom. And yeah i caught what i though was a big lizard, i would lift up and it would feel heavy and then as i dropped the rod it would flutter down to the bottom, i thought they were just the head shakes of a fat lazy fish. Needless to day the other 3 guys on the boat absolutely pissed themselves laughing.

I got snagged the only time I went to NPD. Ended up coming in slowly only to find it was a dead turtle.

I have a good one for you guys and gals. My mate and i were trolling at dohles rocks for flatties and he hooked up to what was definite snag. Took him a while to bring it in and on the end of this massive stick is some line so he pulls that up and on that is a bream. He was stoked, and we were all laughing. He still claims he got a bream trolling a 10cm hardbody. Was a good effort though.
