Fish keepers

Feral

Recommended Posts

Well with the comp at Hinze on the weekend, I figured I had better find some sort of fish keeper. Came across 2 types, both of which I have seen around for years.

First was the old mesh draw string bag. Looks like it would do the job, but I dont know about the amount of damage it would do to the fish, probably good for keeping them fresh, not a realistic option for eventual release though. Second was the old collapsible wire mesh pot.

For Hinze this looks the option, mesh is smooth, should not knock off to many scales etc. So \"upgrading\" fish should not be an issue.

Does have a spring held bottom hatch though. That will be getting zip tied shut!

Oh almost forgot - Mesh bag was about $4, wire mesh pot $10. [img size=385]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/wire_trap_extended.jpg

feral we have used the wire pot version before. Scaled fish still get knocked around a bit in them. We used to use it for keeping livies for sharking until we upgraded to the infamous tub that I cart around now lol. There have been pics of it in my shark reports
