took chris out to get his first bass after work today. did not take long and he managed his first bass ever, going 41cm he was wrapped. we fished into the night and managed a heap of bass in the moonlight..

it was an exciting way to fish except having no lights to deal with the fish in the moonlight, was enough light but hard to see the hooks  we managed 25 bass with chris getting a pb at 44cm and 10 bass all up and i managed 15 bass and a few stonkers. the best went 56.5 and 2 others at 50 and 51.. was great to see another fisho turned into a bass addict  :silly: :silly: hope you enjoyed it chris and i think ya mum wants her yak back ;)

Nice one Wes and congrats Doddzie. I love a good night session. Definitely need a head torch though. I also have a small spotty and a deck light for when you need to see what's ahead or what you are doing inside the yak. Most painful part is catching the trees every fifth cast cause you can't see what you're doing, but when you get scared out of your wits by that surface smashing bass it makes it all worthwhile.

Wes,

mate great idea to measure on the esky lid.... nice 56.5!! At least at night you cant see the snakes getting around up there ;)

cheers mate, its a nally container lid with foam under the edges. it floats and is hands free , once the fish is on the mat it settles and relaxes , about an inch of water sits on top of the lid and the fish can still breathe while you get the camera ready ..
