does anyone know if the old seafarer venus boats are any good, thinking of buying one with a modern outboard, r they pretty solid?

They are based on the cuddy cabin vc which were very popular with the pro crabbers.

Mate used to have a vc and it was a terrific sea boat. Only thing is that you will need something with a bit of grunt to tow as they are a heavy hull.

I have a 80's model v sea 15' and now I am learning to drive it I love it.

It has a 50hp.Would like a 70 but the 50 does the job

my oldman had an early 80's venus when i was growing up great boat,we had a 90hp merc on it and it flew.there are a few good ones still getting around,the only thing we found with it was it was a bit light in the front but we use to put the spare tank of fuel up in the cab and this solved the problem,would be a great boat to have

thanks guys, there's a decent looking one on boatpoint with a 5 year old 75 mercury for 6500, the trailer is ordinary, but i thought it sounded like pretty good value if they are a solid boat

Very popular boat in its day they handle very well just do the usual checks on the hull for any osmosus

my old man used to have one - they go alright. boated plenty of fish in the bay with it. you'd have to try hard to find an uglier boat tho!!
