I dont mind the off fishing topics in their relevant sections, as previously said if your not interested dont read it and just stick to the fishing stuff. Also I have a good laugh at some peoples reactions and opinions to different topics and helps me choose the people on this site who I would like to meet/fish/associate with and who not to give the time of day. Lots of members on here, cant be mates with all of them.

Ray, I guess there is a potential positive(?) in that any disagreements would have swift and decisive corrective action taken...

Although I have seen a forum go down a route of strict moderating, to the point where you'd be kicked out for looking the wrong way... It was a very specialised fishing forum - and needless to say, it wasn't able to sustain its peak membership (which was still well smaller than AFO) before the exodus of fisho started.

The difference between banter and non banter can be measured in the intelligence of a person. Some can articulate their opinion and receive opinions of other quite well, whilst others just resort to personal attacks and profanity.

Either that or its measured in stubbies consumed before posting.

Actually I think that the present form of the forum is ece3ptional with the majority of points of view being very well put ( except for my trolling and stirring) and respected by members.

The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all forced to toe the line and play follow the leader.

Nothing wrong with a bit of a wake up call about something controversial to make you think outside the square.

yes, I said ages ago that we should keep it to fishing, I am sure Greg (booty) considers myself as one of the "undesirables" however I can't ever remember seeing a fishing related post from Booty, or Shortie lets just keep this forum to fishing, as Brad said, you start talking politics and religion, and things get nasty, evidenced by the "banter" over the last couple of months on this forum. Thanks to Ellicat for all his hard work moderating.

Is there any ryme or reason why you feel you need to continuly feel like you have to go out of your way to either name or attack either of these 2 long term members there is an old saying if you have nothing nice to say JUST SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE.There is now where in the AFO rules where it states you must do reports on fishing and where do you get of saying what people think.

Okay Topic locked. This has been covered well enough.

We are aware that over the last few months some members have not conducted themselves in the best manner and we will soon be implementing either temporary bans or permanent bans for any member (regardless of how long they have been a member) who we feel is causing an issue.

Members need to carefully think before they participate on the site. If your post/reply breaks a site rule or requires serious moderation you will be 100% receive some form of ban.
