well I dont really know where to start. I have just had 2 sessions of fishing wednesday and thursday night that just blew my mind.

It all started tuesday night when I asked nodds if he wanted to give the mooloolah river another crack after we got a few good bream on plastic a few weeks back. he said for sure so we met out there late wednesday afternoon around 5:30pm. The fishing started out very slow and didnt get my first bream until around 6:30 but once i got the first the action didnt stop until after 8:30. I landed 19 bream best going 38cm and all were over the 28cm mark. Me brother wanted to go home at 8:30 so I reluctantly left them biting. :(

Ive got a few pics of some of the bigger fish I will post from wednesday night when nodds sends me them.

Thursday I decided to head out there again by myself this time so I could fish and fish and fish lol.

I got there around 7Pm after stopping at BCF for a tackle topup.

First cast with a gulp 2\" shrimp and I was smashed but dropped him. a few casts later and I landed the first of the night at 35cm was a great start. Over the next hour I landed 20 more all over 30cm biggest going 43cm. I gave dad a ring and told him I had beaten last nights hall in the first hour :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I got another 20 or so in the next couple of hours all between 28 and 40 cm.

Now this is when the reel fun started I started hearing a lot of splashing around the front of the jetty, a heap of gar around tonight I thought, took a walk down to take a look and what I saw blew my mind.

Now to paint a picture there were bream as far as I could see in front of the jetty (around 40M) and around 200M long, and they were that thick I literally could not see through them.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: There must have been tens and tens of thousands of them and not a small one amungst them:) a few I ould see would have been around the 2kg mark

They were all circling one another right on the surface and were atacking one another every now and then.

I thought this must have been some sort of mass spawning anybody know??

anyway over the next hour I landed a bream almost every cast, It was well I dont have any words to explain it. anything I chucked at them they just smashed and fought for until one hooked itself:woohoo::woohoo:

This was the most amazing thing I have ever seen and spent as much time watching the fish as i did casting at them.

All up I landed 82 bream making a total of 101 for the 2 nights, just unbeleivable.

I didnt have a camera on me as I dont have one yet:( and unfortunatly didnt have anybody to share this amazing time with. I released all the fish bar 5 which I kept for a feed. I just kept a few of the medium sized fish as I like to release the bigger ones, I know how long they take to grow.

I got all the fish on gulp srimps, worms and 3\" powerbait minnow but they were hitting anything that hit the water

here is a pic of the five I kept. The biggest is 38cm

I am going to head out tomorrow night (saturday) for another session I just hope they are still around. anyway Id love to have someone come along for a crack at them (especially if they have a camera lol) or even a newby to plastics that wants to crack a fish.

some photos nodds took in his phone wednesday night

Mate that is awesome...just when you think the waters are getting overfished. Hearing a story like that really makes you feel good about the fish populations in some areas. Would love to hook up with you for a fish but am on a training course all weekend and have got the flu also so am going to have a couple of early ones and save my wrist for all the winding I will be doing on the NOosa charter. Congrats...great post mate.
