Bream Fishing on the flats

I'm going fishing on the holidays and I've never been flats fishing for bream before so I don't know what works and what doesn't.

I need some help with lures selection and also colour selection.

I'm going to tallebudgera creek, it is known to be very shallow.

Lots of bream just past the first big left bend in the creek upstream of the nets..........can park znd wLk through the mangrovy scrub, jackall chubbys or aus tackle sakanas have always worked for me.

Basically any small hard bodied lure slow rolled over the flats, look for weed beds with at least 100mm cover of water (use surface lures this shallow), flats with shell cover as well. I like the Damiki dtsco and Pontoon 21 Crack Jacks for this style of fishing. Plastics will also work, Damiki armour shads are my fav. As for surface lures Sugar pens and sammy 65's are the go. If the Bream aren't playing the game there's always plenty of flatties and whiting.

What are the main soft plastics that work because I am a keen soft plastic angler , I have a fishing kayak so I can get to most places quite readily. Basically, Top 5 to 10 plastics for bream on the flats.

Thanks heaps for all the advice guys, another thing is the colour, does it make a big difference on flats. If so, what colours seem to work best.

damiki armour shad seems to be the pick of the bunch, I guess the Z man 3.75 inch streakz will do the job no less than the armour shad when cut to size
