I am back again. The only time I post is to have a brag but hey Im a fisherman and thats what we do.

Caught this nice jack in Currumbin Creek across from the paddle board hire place. I am sure it was an absolute fluke.

It was caught on a poddy mullet frame I had filleted for bream bait. The rod was a Kmart Sportsfisher $20 special with stock line (not even sure of the breaking strain).

I thought it was a sting ray to start with and couldnt believe it when I saw the massive tail flick near the bank when it went for another run.

My 7 yr old son said he caught it as he had a hold of the rod when I landed it in the net.

For the record it went 50cm.

well done. this is the time of year when the larger river/estuary models start working their way down to the mouths of rivers on their migration out to the reefs. This is the time to be targeting structure near the river mouths
