queensland A Day Out With The Heavy Tackle

Last week I spent a day out on the shelf chasing Blue Marlin with heavy tackle.

Fishing was very quite with only one fish landed, that was a 13kg Stripey.

The seas were flat and I had a great day on a beautiful boat with an amazing crew which made up for the lack of fish.

We checked out and trolled an area for a while which has a ledge which rises near vertically around 300m high, an amazing piece of structure.

The Marlin season has finished here but it was still nice to have a look for that odd one that may be still lurking around.

What a cracker of day weather wise.

Cruising around on a beautiful boat like that with a chance of catching a big blue. I definately would not have slept well the night before with the anticipation of the day to come. That peak is insane how quick it rises.

What a awesome boat to be out on, and the peak is crazy what on earth could rise that sharp and fast.
