hello,

I'm very interested in baramundi-fishing in australia. My home river in germany is mid-sized river called neckar with smaller perch species:

On my first trip to australia I was very impressed because it's much different from Europe. I hope to get some information and interesting contacts.

Greetings from Germany and tight lines,

steffen

Hello Steffen,

The baramundi is certainly one of our most sought after fish.

Living in Brisbane, when I fish for Baramundi I travel north to the big dams in central Queensland where they are stocked.

If you want to catch a wild one, far north Queensland or the Northern Territory are the best spots.

This is my biggest caught in 2008 at a dam called Monduran near Bundaberg in Central Queensland. Rare to get them that big these days, there was a long drought back then and the fish grew large and fat without being able to get out of the dams for something like 10 years.
