anybody know how much 24kg platypus low stretch ill get on to a tld 25 or do you think the drag isnt up to 24kg line any advice appreciated as allways thanks guys

The TLD 25 will hold approx 600mtrs of 15kg

approx 350mtrs 25KG

It will handle 25kg very well. The drags are reasonable. There is an erskine upgrade for the drags that is available.

It will depend on how old the reel is and how much its been used. I would suggest its worth spending about $30 and get the drags done. Then you know when you hook onto a fish of a lifetime it will not let you down.

According to shimanos website 350yards of 50lb line, so a 300m spool of 24kg platypus will be just about spot on.

The drag is meant to max out at 22lbs but nothing wrong having a significant safety margin.

What kind of fishing are you planning on doing with it? If your planning to bottom fish ditch the mono and go with 50lb braid. If you are planning on trolling go with slightly lighter mono and your lures will swim better.
