Youngs crossing Bass 4/12

Hey team,

soaked some live worms from Tackle World Lawnton at Youngs crossing yesterday. Had a bit of interest with one bass hooked. poor think put up very little fight and was probably the skinniest bass i think I've seen. must not be a whole lot of food for the bass at Youngs crossing. Good to get another entry for the might Team North. although at only 38cm I'm sure it wont last long on the leader board.

Youngs Crossing is not the well stocked larder like NPD or LK especially after the influx of bass from those dam.

The escapees need their fat reserves to give them time to adapt to the harsher conditions there and generally don't get back to their plum dam physique.

do they actually release fingerlings at YC? or have i read that wrong

Hi Chris,

No fingerlings are ever released at Youngs Crossing as it's not part of the PRFMA's approved stocking plan.

A number years ago (10+), at certain times I used to catch the odd very small bass in shrimp traps left overnight at Youngs. I believe that they were from natural breeding.

I was swimming down there few weeks back with my youngins, was an old fella there with shrimp /bait traps. He had 3 and was casting and checking them like lines, every few minutes or so. Still can't figure out what he was chasing.
