queensland hinze western arm 13/7/23

Poor day today at the western arm. The dam seems to have rolled over with visibility down to about 4 feet. When we did our shrimp traps apart from having to relocate a couple the pots were either empty of most of the shrimp were dead. We only got 20 live shrimp from 12 pots fortunately we still had a about 12 shrimp left over from out trip to the eastern arm last week. We had to work hard to get 19 bass with the largest going 39cm. I got another stumpy.

Still a good day out. But I can see a small problem... let Rick know to look for fish in the water not up a tree

Hi Ray , sounds like the shrimp are a bit light on , down at the Hinze recently. I see the dam has dropped significantly again since you took me there .I can only imagine how tuff it must be getting in there to service that run of pots.I also wonder whether they are still being share farmed.

I was forced into doing an overall on the trailer because the rear cross member’s rusted out .The trailers booked in to get 3 new cross members welded in  a weeks time .

Once I have it all setup up again  , I’ll get you down the to the Hinze and we’ll move all those pots out of that area , to some greener pasture.
