After catching nothing at Lake Dwyer on Saturday decided to give Wivenhoe a go seeing that it had also risen .

I thought at least I could have some fun with the catfish.

Arrived at 7am and had a chat with the ranger who refused to sell me a permit. He just told me to go and have a look at the ramp.

The water has come up a fair bit but it is very shallow on the ramp I walked out around 50 feet and the water still only came up to my ankles.

It need to come up another 3 ft and then you will be able to launch ok.

The ranger said that they had been catching plenty of catties from the bank on worms.

Sorry no photos as I left camera at daughters.

Then went into Fernvale markets an got a bit of fruit and vegies at least I scored a parking spot for the car and boat right outside.

End of a nothing report.

Sounds like everyone had a pretty ordinary weekend!

I've already put a big red 'X' in my diary for that weekend next year!

No there is only one temporary ramp that goes down past the old ramp. everything else is fenced off as too many people were getting bogged. The only reason that the ramp is open is so that people can launch their canoes etc.

Ray, do you need another permit other than sips for Wivenhoe?

Is ther a lot of catties in there?

Wivanhoe and Somerset need a boat permit, $15 a day from memory. Pain in the but to get to!

Lee no worries with a yak.

Malcolm very large fork tailed catfish there especially in summer. They slow down a bit in winter which is the best time to fish for bass there.
