I can meet you guys there between 1:30-2pm, give you a quick rundown on fishing Schultz, and then bugger off again after a quick session and leave you at it.

If we stay within sight of the bridges, then we shouldn't miss eachother if we don't all arrive at the same time.

High tide is about 1:30, so should give you guys a good runout tide to fish.

Go down nudgee road, and where it crosses the canal ( the gateway crosses just next to it as well ) You can park on the side of the road just near battery world. There's been links to maps posted before, so do a quick forum search and you should find them.

SX 40/48 work really well there, had some success with plastics too. mostly catch bream and flathead, but have caught cod and a few other misc species there as well.

they will work fine, there a little heavier too so you can cover more ground with longer casts. I have often used pygmies instead of sx's because they are outfishing them

Sounds like a plan! So if we meet at say 1.30 (Kriso and I), hang in the general area, you (UNT) can join us catch lots of fish, then leave us to catch up. Cool.

mossie spray

water

pliers

lip grippers

old shoes or ones you dont mind full of mud\

tackle back for lure retrieval

long handled landing net or kev with heavy leader

camera

back pack for the to much crap

leader in a couple of sizes

lures 'well dahh'

rod reel 'even more dahh'

more mossie spray the first lot just wore off

old towel

camera 'for cod'

ooh yeh the brag mat i allways forget something

Yeap, that sems like a pretty good list Faulked. Especially the mozzie repellent & shoes. However, during the day, you won't need the mozzie spray.

Also would be a good idea to bring a ruler/brag mat:)

kevs cod leader is really handie for dragging fish up the bank just lower it down snag the fish and lift that loomis just lifts flatties and the like

that's a pretty good list, but important is to make sure you don't take too much, otherwise you won't be able to walk and cast freely.

6 pound leader for surface lures, but minimum 12 pound for any other lures, going heavier if you're chasing cod. I've never needed a landing net so far there on 12 pound leader, but feel free to bring one.

I managed to weasel out of the meeting, so when I get there I can stay put. one of you PM me your mobile number so I can find you when I get there.

hey dan did I mention the last couple of trips to that little dam I took yah too I have seen 1 6=7 foot red belly and a couple of 8ft king browns :blink: still keen to come back???

Also a few other non-venomous ones. Like Marsh Snakes (dark black colour, with a bit of an olive tinge) and Green Tree Snakes.

But if you keep out of the long grass, or atleast walk slowely through it, you will be pretty safe
