Fished the Skids area of the Passage with the daughters boyfriend who is becoming a keen fisherman. He wanted to try and catch a few of the big whiting that he he often sees in my photo collection. An early start under overcast sky saw us fishing the last of the run out in my favorite location in the upper Bribie Passage. We scored a good feed of Whiting and the young bloke was amazed at the size and fight of this tasty critters. All I have to do now is teach him how to dig bait for me and we may be able to come to some arrangement with my daughter. [img size=265]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/Lukes_Whiting_Trip__1_.jpg

Damn nice catch Coochin. I guess by the Skids you mean up in the narrows down past the orchid. I go there form time to time, but only use lures, mostly chasing flatties. I've caught 32cm, and 37cm whiting on my rebel crawfish lure chasing flatties, and you're right they're great fighters. Only problem is my wife always gets to eat the whiting. So, maybe I need to fish with bait so I get more than one per trip....then I mighht get a taste! hehe

Soooo, digging means worms?

Oh, and by arrangement with your daughter....does that mean he'll be able to keep her out until 9.00pm? :P

Mick the never fails - good work - I like your suggestion about digging bait - in fact I was thinking it should be a rule.
