Terry and Biggles Rod builds

I am doing 2 rod builds over the next couple of weeks one for Terry and one for al (Biggles).

Terrys is a 6'6" Loomis S782-IMX with Titanium guides and Custom matagi split grip, Will be a really nice bit of kit. he is going to match it to a 1000 Twin power for ultralight stuff :woohoo:

Als is a 4-10lb 7 foot Gussa blank, alconite guides, on a matagi split grip, he is matching it to a 2000 Sol.

I plan to wright up a full detailed description along with loads of photos on the build

Oh I also ordered myself a Power Wrapper:woohoo::woohoo: , cant wait to have a play with it

I have just got the matagi Grips just now thought id post a few pics of them::laugh:

heres the grips, Terrys is the one with the Gun Metal Grey Reel seat and gold rings Al's is the other.

The photos dont really do these justice the look superb

mate looks pretty good in the photo. One thing I know though is just what you said, photos don't do them any justice. The flash offers a different lighting effect which can often make things look much darker and not as good when in fact they're very good.

Liek I said though, they look pretty dam awesome in the photo so I bet they look phenominal in your hands. You're a lucky man Lee, I can't wait to have it in my own hands:)

Yeah , obviously the butt section looks pretty damn long in the photo. Lee said we'll be cutting it down to a comfortable size

The only reason lee is building me a new rod is to ensure I have no unfair advantage when wooping ya buts off :woohoo: . At some point in the futre you blokes are goin to give me a fair pizzlin on the water, but it won't be today :laugh: :laugh: . So there ya tree catcher.

I have finished glueing up both Terry and Als Butt Sections. thought id show a couple of pics. Im about to start Wrapping als (by hand on the power wrapper because im waiting on an inverter).

Als Butt Section with my 2000 Sol on it same reel he will have on there

Shite, You can make your own though cant you? Need a sewing machine/Microwave motor or something like that, Then buy a chuck and some supports? Also you could use a cordless drill. But yeah that thing would be best.
