Surface Poppers In The River

Been reading articles on surface poppers and the success rate but will they work in the brisbane river. inparticular breaky creek seeing as i will be going there on saturday.

One of the blokes that works at Mossops claims to be near a god when it comes to fishing for bream with poppers, he wouldn't stop telling me how good he was and how many tornaments he had won and competed in etc. etc.

You may want to give them a call or drop in one afternoon.

I don't know how for real he was, but it couldn't hurt to hear what he has to say.

is mossops the one at wollongabba? and also does the water clarity depend on how many strikes ull get?

Mate if you fish poppers around structure in the creek there is not reason at all you should get some hits. There are also trevs in the anyway. And id be willing to bet some choppa tailor.

Do u get many chopper tailor through the brizzy river. what poppers do u guys reckon u should use to target tailor and trevally.

yeh tru have u guys got any thing big on the poppers didnt really now if they would work the best in the river

I've caught a few bream on river2sea poppers and Troy has got a few bream on a different surface lure. Just find structure and feeding fish and you'll be sweet.

Also work it faily slowly with 3-5 second pauses between small sized 'bloops'.
