metal lures

bought some metal lures off ebay for just 4 bucks, looking at chasing tailor down the pin in the next few as months as the water cools down. but these lures i got have got the hooks at the head not the tail:unsure: is that right? doesnt look right to me. Swap them to the back. Should not be a hassle. Looks like same mount front and rear.

Apart from that they look a good set of tailor lures! Nice score.

hooks are on the front because they are ment for vertical jigging, if you put the hooks on the skinny end they will tend to tumble and tangle when you try to cast them. goodlooking jigs all the same.

mmm I agree with Jeff. You want the most weight in the bum end of the lure. I figure most of the decorations is to attract anglers more than fish, so the eyes at the wrong end shouldn't matterB)

Troll a couple on a few feet of line, one each way, and see how they swim.

yeah it wont make any difference trolling them.but it does when casting,voice of experience speaking, the heavy end overtakes the light end in the air and the hooks tangle in the trace or snap creating no end of frustration:angry:

9/10 predatory fish take a bait head first, or at least attack it and come back for the dead fish later, that's if they arn't big enough to shallow is whole. I say keep it the way it is.
