Tackle Box

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good tacklebox? I'm tired of looking for swivels, hooks and sinkers at the bottom of my box as they never seem to stay in there compartments, so its time to get a new one. Plus it will be great if the handle doesnt break in the 1st 6 months.

I changed over from hard body tackle boxes to a big tackle bag :woohoo:

It carries 5 or 6 big plastic tackle boxes and all the leader, brag mat etc

Got the boxes labeled for example 1 box has bottom bashing gear hooks, swivels,wire traces etc another box has Big lures etc etc

So when what type of fishing is going to be tried I just grab a box and leave the rest out of the way but still stay with me Just in case :woohoo:

but if your hearts set on the old style go a Plano last forever

I just use the ones from bunnings and I have about 3, One for bait one for plastic jigs and one for HB lures.

does me, as I am sa bit off those big multi layer boxes that end up all over the shop.

The Plano and Shimano tackle box's are good. I just use the single tray lure boxes (work for lures and terminals) and shove the ones I need into a backpack.

the plano range i am pretty sure you can get coloured latches, so you can colour code the latches to a style of fishing, easy to pull out the right one from a tackle bag or multi tray tackle box if you have several and don't need them all for an outing.

Mate I just use a small sports bag style or 2 with trays different lures 1 for bass, 2 for barra and so and so on that way you only need take what you need when fishing .I try to keep my sinkers out of tray's by just using old plastic pill bottle's and give's you a reason to throw out you old pills that are out of date. All my tray's are waterprof,and keep all my swivel's in there own tray,it's cost's a little extra but well worth it I think. Good luck

i do the same as cowfish, the single layer trays are great. i have one for surface lures, one for diving lures, softies go in a pouch, and then just put them all in a back pack. those trays would also be good for terminal tackle

Sounds like we pretty much all do that. Then just select the trays your gunna need and stuff em in ya gunny sack before you go.

The beauty of the plano ones is the lifetime warranty.Also no worries if you put soft plastics in them if you put sps in the bunnings ones they melt.

This is/was my setup. If I am going fishing withpout the boat I have a Plano bag that holds 4-6 trays as well as heaps of other 'bits n pieces'

dont the soft plastics dry up if you take them out their original packet?

mate the only plastics that dry up are your gulps... most other plastics will be fine.
