Gad Posted November 12, 2009 Report Share Posted November 12, 2009 Apparently new measuring laws have come in stating that you can only measure a mud crab across the top of the carapace(widest point 15cm,same as previous rule), previously you could also measure them underneath if the top of the carapace was damaged. With measuring a muddie now,is tip to tip or notch to notch classed as the widest part of the carapace. I am of the belief it is tip to tip. With sandies,its clearly stated that it is a notch to notch measurement,because years ago some would snap of one or both of the tips, then argue the toss, if checked by fishery officers Can not find a clear defined statement for muddies. cheers Gad Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
