went over the tallebudeger bar about 6 am this morning very flat no breakers on the bar till we got outside where it was a 1m northerly swell no wind. couldn't find any large bait schools so we anchored on 1 of my spots started to get livies straight away 2 yakkas then 1 big slimie also got a buaet little bonito. we put the slimie under a balloon put a yakka on the bottom and a few floating pilchards and sat back. bait started smashing all around us at about 730 and the ballon went off at 8 and then it jumped zzzzzzz a good size dolphin fish lit up and took off jumping many times we cleared the other rods cause this bloke looked a buaety first gaff shot saw it tamed then iced down in a slurry. a bit over 1200mm and felt about 10kilo a big girl with no boof head the livie on the bottom got hit by what look like a school mackerel slice. so we called it a day by 930 as my son was getting a little sea sick the bar was good going back as well all cleaned up by 11 so it looks good for over xmas chaps

Would love to get one as haven't caught one for ages. Never seem to get any on the troll .

Whats the bait situation like down the Gold Coast. The other day off Moreton there were baitfish busting up everywhere.
