Mary Cod at Risk?

Just reading my latest FFSAQ minutes, and they are talking about a summit in March, where we will find out what is going to happen with the Mary Cod.

From what I had heard, the original plan was for the Mary Cod breeding at Lake MacDonald to be moved to the new Dam. I had heard that they had already decommissioned the old site and farmed out the brood stock waiting for the new facility. Dont know if that's true or not.But certainly the new dam was going to provide a much better facility and a long term solution for the Mary River Cod.

Now apparently as the new Dam is not being built, Anna has no need for Mary Cod fingerlings to earn "green cred", so no new facility. We dont even know if further research previously promised will go ahead. FFSAQ waiting to hear what the Govt has to say in March before deciding on any action (if necessary).

I'll be writing to my local member asking that the promised facility be honoured!

while I am at it why dont I post the locations of all successful river stockings.
