Fly caught fish

This is a 38cm bass from dinos new spot x. Rod is a 2 wt

i never said it was big

i simply posted a fish i caught on fly, it was bloody fun whether it was the size of yours or not

my uncle owns a property which is a 5min walk to a pristine Lake that has HEAPS of brown trout.

he recently caught a 6lb there

they eat really well as well

Oh wow fun as Little barra give such a good account of themselves. Few business trips to Katherine last year we caught a stack around that size but on soft placcies. We would have cleaned up on fly rod there i reckon.

NOG, got them around the proserpine area, all pulled out of a small billabong, hence the colouring.

Monday

Took three flies, popped the first two (crap knots), but the third stayed put. Fish are much more receptive to a boat with motor shut off and a fly landing delicately amongst the school.

The great thing about flyfishing is firstly, you tinker with anew fly design the night before

Then go out the next day and see if it works

Mate I have mentioned in a previous thread but will do so again, it would be worth adding the Brisbane Fly Fishing glad to the "Groups" section of AFO. You can use this group to recruit members, organise events etc.

Also dont be shy to do more regular reports in the actual reports sections of the site. You will find a lot of people who could be potential converts to the fly fishing world will miss these awesome posts as they are perusing fishing reports and not general fly fishing chat section.
