Hey guys just a quick reminder that registrations close in just over 24 hours.

So please help support the AFO community and keep it operational by entering this great event whether its to have a serious crack at the plentiful target species, or simply to be in the running for the $1000.00 lucky door prize!

Good luck to all those that will be competing this year!

Cheers.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but just going through the rules and reg for the event it states a photo of the fish on the ruler and a photo of the fish with the angler is required. Where does one stand if you're kayaking solo and it's kinda hard to get the fish with angler photo. Will a poorly framed photo cut it or does it have to be framed well showing the fish. It's a bit late to be asking but am keen to compete and just need a answer on this one before registering.

Cheers

Hey Mark. Good question. This is much like the Fish Of The Month Comp.

The photo of the fish on the mat has to be very clear showing the whole fish with clear and readable measurements and MUST have the unique item (which will be emailed later in he week) in the photograph as well.

The photo of the angler and the fish just needs to show the angler and the fish, not the whole fish, the whole angler and so on. So to answer your question a "poorly framed" photo will cut it as long as you and the fish are in it :)

Mark do you have any distinguishing marks or moles on your leg :P will that do Angus

Also mate how many have registered so far? The number on the confirmed guests has not seem to changed.

Confirmed guests as per the calendar event is pretty accurate mate, actually a little bit generous. Some people did RSVP affirmative that never registered.

hmmm a 1 in 40 chance of the lucky door prize and a 8 in 40 chance of winning a division incredible odds there

Thats pretty much what we thought Ted. Better than average raffle chances of winning some proper coin even if competition is not your thing, and a chance to support this community (which is in need of it at present) at the same time!

Anyway there will be a few happy faces I believe come the end of the comp :)

Does rego completely cut off today Gus? i'm still waiting to see if i can get days off at work to even compete. No more on the day entries? (even if it costs more usually)

Rego's close in 12 hours and 22 minutes :)

For this event once they are closed thats it. At this point all the unique items will be sent out which are required for the event hence thats why they need to be in by this point.

One of the reasons we elected to have a 10 day event this time was to give most people at least some chance to get out there. We hoped that this would cater for shift workers, 9 to 5ers, weekend workers etc etc.

Even if it ends up that you cannot compete you are still in with a 1 in 40 (or thereabouts) chance of winning $1000!

So probably best to register now and if you don't make it on the water you can still win the lucky door and you are supporting AFO :)

Obviously the main photo required for judging is the whole fish on the brag mat ("Fish with Ruler"), if you end up keeping the fish you can take the "Fish with Angler" photo back on dry land, or if you are out on the water in your kayak and want to release the fish please take the best "Fish with Angler" photo possible.

This is a reminder to all that if they wish to participate in the 2011 Moreton Bay Classic you need to get your entries in ASAP - there is only 5 hours to go before entries close.

So if you are thinking of going for a fish in the next 10 days probably worth entering as you may just catch something bigger than the winning fish in each category! plus if you don't catch anything there is always the huge $1000 cash lucky door prize to win.

so register now if you want to compete by clicking here

So far there is a 1:36 chance of winning $1000 - won't find better odds than that anywhere else!!
